|D O W N L O A D|
The main purpose of the research conducted by the author of this book was to provide readers with proper identification and clear description of the project fire risks that are commonly present in the cruise ship industry of today. The attempt was also made to duly assess the size of the associated risks and explicate the potential response. The author has applied the theoretical approach basing on the project management as well as the general management of the fire risks, supplemented by the specific ship building literature.
The thorough and detailed study has been performed of the technical data obtained from seven different European shipyards. Here is the brief content of the document - Introduction; Review of literature; Materials used; Methods of research; Findings on fire risk and its assessment; Findings on responses to possible fire risk at the shipyards; Fire risk, its size and available responses in case of construction of cruise vessels; Discussion; The very basic chemistry and physics; Fire risk management of already completed cruise ships... These are the most important topics of the Doctorial dissertation presented by Pekka Raisanen at Aalto University last year.
