This book is about Greek shipowning family firms. It provides insight into the path they followed which turned them into leaders in world shipping. Greek-owned shipping, that is, ship owned and/or operated by Greeks, increased from 1.5 per cent of the world fleet in 1947 to 17 per cent of the world fleet at the beginning of the 21st century.
