The materials provided in the present book have been partitioned into five parts. It shows the origins of navigation and how techniques, methods, and systems have been developed. Certainly, this subject may be seen from different perspectives. The first part deals with methods and algorithms. The second part deals with collision avoidance. The principles of anti-collision, and correspondmg methods, models and scenarios are described in general and with some particular samples of applications. The third part deals with geodetic problems in navigational applications. The fourth part deals with route planning in marine navigation - here the different kinds of ocean route optimization, weather routing and route planning methods are presented. The last, fifth part, deals with aviation and air navigation.
