Welcome to Yangshan which is currently on track to become the largest deep water port ever constructed, a twenty-kilometer quay with fifty berths over thirty kilometers out to the sea; it is linked to China by means of the second longest ocean bridge in the world, where massive cranes and cutting edge control systems and some very, very skilled, experienced and focused personnel are shattering records for the loading and unloading gigantic container vessels.
Spring 2007 - the Gudrun Maersk, which is one of the largest container ships on earth sails thirty-two kilometers off the Chinese coast. Her decks have about 3000 shipping containers, a multi-million dollar cargo. An thirty-two kilometers out at sea the crew of Gudrun Maersk is just about to put it all overboard at one of the biggest cargo facilities on earth.
