This book consists of two big parts. Part 1 is named "The Divided Oceans - International Law Governing Jurisdictional Zones". It covers the law of the sea in perspective, baselines and related issues, marine spaces under national jurisdiction - territorial sovereignity and sovereign rights, maritime delimitation and marine spaces beyond any national jurisdiction. The second part of the book is "Our Common Ocean - Protection of Community Interests at Sea". It addresses such important matters as conservation of marine living resources, protection of the marine environment, conservation of marine biological diversity, marine scientific research, maintenance of security at sea and international peace, geographically disadvantaged and land-locked states, peaceful settlement of international disputes.
