The primary purpose of this pamphlet was to provide enough knowledge for the readers to correctly observe and plot celestial lines of position, as well as to obtain any information required in order to complete a celestial navigational day at sea. The degree of proficiency that readers can actually reach in celestial navigation would require experience.
