This book concentrates on the evolution of the ships and their ordnance
during 1793-1914. It is intended to be a useful introduction to the
tecnological changes of the period as well as an oveview of naval
warfare. I treat the major naval battles and campaigns at sea to show
how the changes in technology played out. I also discuss major policy
decisions and motivations behind them. I have also included discussion
of some of the principal naval strategists. I hope there will be much
here to interest both the specialist and general reader.
