The Pure Car Carriers (Car ferries), are characterized as special ships
form with relatively high freeboard that have a very large area of the
hull and superstructure above the water level as compared to that of the
underwater hull. Therefore, the wind has great influence on the ship
hull, and the wave from the bow has also much impact on the large flare
of the bow. In addition, incidents of dragging anchor due to strong
winds also take place while anchoring such vessels.
