FLUID DYNAMICS OF OIL AND GAS RESERVOIRS

The content of the present publication shall definitely be treated as a very valuable training asset in the technical library for absolutely all petroleum engineering students; in the meantime, it will also be of great interest to the offshore industry veterans continuing to work in the oil fields.

Two authors of this publication did their best to combine a rigorous (but still easily understandable) approach with its application to the environmental and, in particular, engineering in order to get important engineering problems that the engineers and geologists face on the daily basis solved.

The book covers the aspects of the oil/gas occurrences in the various regions, hydrogeochemical field, geobaric and geotemperature field, geo-fluid-dynamics, generation and migration of hydrocarbons together with their accumulation, qualitative criteria, geologo-mathematical models, and other important information expected to be useful for the drilling engineers.

FLOATING PRODUCTION STORAGE AND OFFSHORE LOADING VESSEL 3D INDUSTRIAL ANIMATION

This is just a short video, not even the video but introductory animation with the content devoted to the floating production storage and offshore loading vessel. and demonstrating the loading process.

Would be recommended to be used as a supplementary training material for the trainees, particularly newcomers to the offshore industry as it is covering the main aspects to be focused on.

There are just three minutes of animation but its authors have managed to address the top important aspects. Of course, for more detailed information trainees will have to go to the specific literature on this matter covering the process in detail. However, this one is not bad for the start at all.

GLOBAL LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT

Due to service innovation and pressures to improve agility and greenness, daily logistics optimization is becoming important in Japan, especially for small businesses like convenience stores and supermarkets. A recent review of articles published on supply chain management within the last decade has revealed a scarcity of models that capture dynamic aspects relevant to real-world applications and has underscored the need for extensive studies on this topic.

In view of these observations, in this chapter, we investigate three-echelon logistic network optimization and provide a practical hybrid metaheuristic method.The model supports decision making at the tactical level for daily planning and inventory management in the presence of demand deviation. To deal with this problem, we extend our strategic approach to include some decisions at the operational level. In particular, we consider the multivehicle routing problem while taking into account inventory management issues.

By taking into account the dynamics of demand and warehouse inventory, we try to give a practical approach that can provide innovative resolutions to daily planning problems. Then, to examine some effects of demand deviation on inventory condition, we carried out a parametric study regarding ordering points. The final aim of this study is to develop an integrated information and decision support system that can dynamically manage appropriate databases of resources and product demand.

Additional work must be undertaken to realize this goal, such as the deployment of variants of the basic idea and the use of parallel computation to increase the speed of finding solutions and to enhance information retrieval and the visualization of results on a real map...

FIRE RISK AND ITS MANAGEMENT IN CRUISE VESSEL CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

FAULT FINDING IN THE AIR SERVO MECHANISM

This training software consists of three parts covering the main components making up the air servo mechanism, its operating principles, and fault finding. The users will be given an opportunity to identify the operation of the various components of the air servo mechanism.
