The present booklet was developed and officially released by the world known Kongsberg Maritime with the intention to provide the interested parties with the detailed information relating to the solutions to be used on the tanker vessels. It starts with the brief information about the system philosophy so that the readers can home some very general idea, followed by the more detailed chapter where the reliability, and instrumentations are explained as applied to the oil and chemical tankers.
The tanker management is covered within the third chapter of the booklet, including the automated tank management and the modular concept. The cargo monitoring and control systems are dealt with in the next chapter together with the shipboard loading computers and the associated software, radar-based sounding of the cargo tanks, level gauging, including the sensors and other applicable devices, and so many other things.
