This training file belongs to the IHRDC Video Library intended for Production Operators. The training video film is explaining the fundamental technical principles of heat exchanger operation... You know, when the diesel engines are running, they can really get hot. That is why, to keep them running, we need to remove the heat somehow.

Otherwise, the temperature will continue to rise and the engine will eventually get overheated - this results in the high temperature alarm/shutdown or, which is the worst case, in the damage occurring to the engine. That is where the engine radiator comes in.

As the engine is running, the cooling liquid which is stored in the radiator, is continuously circulating through the engine, picking up heat and then returns to the radiator. In short, this is what the radiator is there for - it forms an integral part of the cooling system...

This is another introductory video film we have - it is expected to be very useful for crew members dealing with the everyday operation and maintenance of Gotaverken - B&W marine diesel engines. It shows step by step actions for the replacement and periodical overhaul of the starting valve of the subject engine.

The official release by the manufacturer. It is highly recommended to use the instruction book for the Gotaverken B&W K-90 GF for reference when watching this instruction film. In general, the process should consist of the following four steps: A - Stop the engine, B - Block the starting mechanism, C - Connect the turning gear, and D - Open the display cocks.

Note that we also have the instruction video addressing the replacement and overhaul of the fuel valve, also presented by Gotaverken so the users dealing with the maintenance and especially repair of these engines would better have both of these videos for their easy reference and use.

Here is a good instructional video produced by Gotaverken Burmeister & Wein specialists and devoted to the fuel valves installed on the K-KF engines and demonstrating the process of their replacement and overhaul. This operation has been described in the Instruction Book, as well - refer to the Volume 2 - Maintenance Parts 901-2, 909-8.

Before we commence the work, we must follow five safety measures, namely - stop the engine, block the starting mechanism by closing the tap for the starting air, connect the turning gear, open the display cocks, close the oil-supply tap. Once these operations have been satisfactorily completed, you can then begin the replacement of the fuel valve.

It is assumed that the following items are at hand - a normal tool kit, a replacement valve normally collected at the time of purchase from the stores, various cleaning/grinding materials. There are some special tools commonly required, such as the extractor and grinding and milling tools for the fuel valve. Note that we have another instructional video from Gotaverken covering the replacement and overhaul of the starting air valve.

Short instructional animation showing how the separators work. Will be useful as a supplementary material to the theoretical resources. Here is the brief description of the separation process - Separator with bowl, drive, feed and discharge. The separation process takes place in the rotor.

A large clarification area in comparison to sedimentation by gravity is realized by conical discs and high g-forces. Ribs beneath the distributor accelerate the product. The product is fed into the rising channels and split up over a large number of disk interspaces. Due to the higher density the solids stream against the conical discs and slide to the solid holding space. The separated solids collect in the solids holding space.

The periodically activated sliding piston opens a gap for discharging the accumulated solids. The sliding piston closes hydraulically and the solids holding space can be filled up again. The clarified liquid streams to a central discharge channel towards the centripetal pump which is stationary and the liquid rotates. The clarified liquid is discharged under pressure through the discharge line...

This training software consists of three parts covering the main components making up the air servo mechanism, its operating principles, and fault finding. The users will be given an opportunity to identify the operation of the various components of the air servo mechanism.

The third part of this program will demonstrate the users how they should proceed in case there is some problem in the mechanism. The core file is .exe so no need for any installation, just launch and use. No cracks, activation codes or many sort of malware inside.
